FOLK MUSIC FOR HAPPY PEOPLE

Fidel once provided sex advice to Fat Mike from NOFX whilst recording in San Francisco and sang with Bobby McFerrin on stage in Germany. Matiss unexpectedly learned to drive manual in a borrowed car in Sydney peak hour traffic, and has occasionally woken Fidel up at 4am to tell him of the arrival of aliens.

Together and seperately Not the Wolf and have worked and played with numerous great musos around australia (including Ross Hannaford (Daddy Cool), Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything), The Go Set, Fat Mike (NOFX),Rory McLeod, Liz Stringer, The Real Mckenzies, Bobby McFerrin, Kavisha Mazella, Jordie Lane, Jeff Lang, Dave Steele, Bill Chambers and Andrew Clermont to name a few) .

Not The Wolf have been playing together in one incarnation or another since 1992. Fidel on guitar and vocals and Matiss on everything else (fiddle, mandolin, accordion, bass, kazoo, harmonica, ouija board) they write songs with a wink and a nod to folk heroes and balladeers whilst embracing the comforting cardigan of 90s grunge and punk. Not The Wolf know how to entertain a crowd, play eyebrow curling solos and kick ass with a professional swagger.
